Thou who pourest of Thine own holy oil into the stars, and of senseless conflagrations makest vigil lamps before the Glory of Heaven, pour Thyself into my soul also, and of the conflagration of passion make a vigil lamp before the heavens.
Thou who walkest inaudibly over the flowering fields, and sprinklest the flowers with Thy grace, that through them may gaze not the blood of the earth but the beauty of God, sprinkle the field of my soul also with Thy grace, that it may not be said of it: swollen with the blood of the earth — but: adorned with the beauty of God.
Thou who stirrest and pourest life into every heap of ashes, pour life into the ashes of my body also, that I may live and glorify Thy works.
Thou who tamest fire and wind, and of demons makest servants of the Most High, tame my pride and make me a servant of the Most High.
Thou who showest mercy to the beasts in the deep woods, have mercy also on me, turned beast through ignorance.
Thou who makest fruitful every seed of life; who hoverest in every womb; who sittest in the egg of the bird's nest and fashionest a new marvel of life, make fruitful, I pray Thee, the invisible seed of good in me also, and keep watch over it until it grows to fullness.
O Dread and Almighty Spirit, who by Thy presence makest of robbers' caves a shelter for Heaven, and of the fearful universe a temple for God, descend into me, I pray Thee, and make of a handful of ashes that which Thou canst and knowest how to make.
